Forestry News
way’, Hello. Ntityix Resources LP was busy on several fronts this past winter.
The MacDougall Creek wildfire salvage program is in full swing with our efforts focussing on salvaging burned spruce, pine and balsam before it starts to crack.
As we move into spring and summer we will shift our focus to Douglas-fir stands which generally take longer to crack and begin conducting surveys and rehabilitation projects along burned riparian areas. Trees within the wildfire that were still alive were left standing where possible.
Our forestry crew has been busy conducting wildfire mitigation work in Kalamoir Park, West Kelowna.
We are thinning, pruning, and removing surface fuels to make the park more resilient to fire and should have this project wrapped up by the end of March. If you are interested in working in our forestry crew this summer, please give us a call.
We continue working on expanding the operating areas of WFN. This winter we completed identifying the forests to be managed for old forest values in their Peachland and Barton operating areas, and this summer we will gradually be moving roads and silviculture obligations in these areas to Ntityix Resources.
