Replaceable Forest License
In December 2013, WFN was rewarded a Replaceable Forest Licence in an area adjacent to its Community Forest near Big White. It covers an area of over 11,000 hectares within the West Kettle River drainage and consists of thriving forests of immature lodgepole pine and mature spruce and balsam.
Annual Allowable cut (AAC): 32,400 cubic metres.
WFN and the Province are presently negotiating to replace this licence with a First Nation Woodland licence which would give WFN similar benefits and responsibilities as the Community Forest Agreement.
